BSNL Name Transfer of Telephone


Change of Name of subscriber is permitted under the following categories :
During the lifetime of the Subscriber : Close relations such as Mother, Father, Sister, Brother (including step brother & step sister), Husband, Wife, Son, Daughter etc.
On death of subscriber : According to his / her will. In the absence of a will, transfer is permitted to Widow / Widower, Child / Legal heir with the consent of  other Children / Legal Heirs. This formality should be completed within 1 year of death of the subscriber.
When name or constitution of the Company is changed, or sale / dissolusion of the Firm.
Change of the name of the subscriber � e.g. due to marriage.
If the telephone under transfer was initially provided under special category, then  the transferrer will not be eligible for registration of another new phone under the particular special category anywhere in India for a period of 5 years from the date of such transfer.
Transfer Charge :In all the above cases, Transfer Fee payable is Rs 100
Third Party transfer is also permissible after the existing phone is enjoyed for a minimum period of one (1) year and the name transfer fee in this case would be Rs 500.
How to Apply for Name Transfer ?Application should be submitted in Com-12 form to the respective Commercial Officer, signed by both transferor and transferee ( except in death cases ).

Application is to be submitted within one year of occurrence. However, applications beyond one year can be accepted under specific approval of Competent Authority.
