BSNL Kerala 3G services

3G allows simultaneous use of speech and advanced data services.3G technology offers unprecedented quality in voice call as well as a wide range of compelling data services.

          Now 3G Service is given to all mobile customers in Kerala Circle and customers having 3G compatible handset have to 'enable packet data' in their mobile handset to access internet through 3G Network. DataSTVs are also available for accessing internet and other data services.

For DATA STV Activation,send SMS to 53733 in the format DATA(Denomination of STV)

For eg:for activating DATA STV 139,send SMS---DATA139 to 53733.

3G Services are:

  Video calling
  Internet connectivity
  Mobile email
  Multimedia services such as sharing of digital photos and movies via wireless means
  Videos and music downloads
  Real-time multiplayer gaming and more.....

Video call

                 When we talk to some one over phone and are able to see the person at other end on the screen of your phone then it is called a video call.

Video Calling lets your friends see where you are. With Video Call, you can view both yourself, and the person you've called, in high quality, real-time video in 3G

The following things will enable us to make a video call:

a. Both calling and called party should be 3G mobile customers. or

b. Both calling and called party should have suitable handset with cameras.

Video calling is a 3G service is only possible if both the parties are within 3G coverage. If the other party is not in 3G network then the video call will not be connected, the call will drop and party A will get a message 'video call not supported by called party network'.In such a case he may like to make a voice call only. If any of the party involved in conversation moves out of 3G coverage, the video call will drop. In such a case he may like to make a voice call .The voice call will continue without any interruption.

Procedure:

For video call we need have:

1.3G service enabled handset

2.SIM having 3G service enabled.

Then you have to follow following steps to get the video call service :

      a.  Go to menu 

      b.  Click on settings button.

      c.  Click on network

      d.  Click on network mode

      e.  Here we will see three options Dual, UMTS and GSM

      f.  Clicking on Dual mode will first reboot your handset and then make your handset active for 3G network wherever it is available else the handset will remain active as it does in ordinary 2G/ 2.5 G network. Once your handset is in dual mode it will give preference to 3G networks i.e. if both 2G/ 2.5G and 3G networks are there then will work in 3G Network. It will be visible on the screen of your handset. 3G sign will appear in your handset near the signal sign.

Mobile TV:
We can watch TV programs on our handsets even while being mobile. We can watch any of the programmers that are being provided by the content provider, who is having an agreement with BSNL to provide the content, on mobile TV.. The basic requirement is 3G enabled multimedia mobile phone with a 3G enabled mobile connection.
MOBILE TV SETTINGS :
To Download MIMOBI TV on mobile :
Pre requisite : Carry out the WAP settings and make wapsouth.cellone.in as default APN as explained above (in To connect using bsnl-wap as APN).
To Subscribe MOBILE TV :
1 Send SMS 3GTV to 58888. 2 You will receive the Mobile TV application download URL in your handset as a service message (http://59.162.166.210:8080/OTA/Download3GMimobiTV) 3 Click as the URL. 4 Download menu will be received stating the name of application, size, Type, Click OK. Now the application starts downloading.(for 3G the size of the application is approximately 662 KB). 5 You will be prompted with 'Install MimobiTV?', choose Yes. 6 Detail of the application will be shown, select continue. 7 You will be prompted with Install 662KB to i) Nokia - (internal memory) ii) Memory card - (additional memory card) Select where sufficient memory is available and installation will start. 8 A message will be displayed stating the application will make use of GPRS etc., Choose continue. 9 After installing the application, the available mobile TV channel lists will be displayed alongwith an user alert. Too many Access Points. Please delete some Access Points and try again!........ Click OK ('No issues'.). 10 Now select any channel. 11 You will get a prompt-subscribe for i) - Rs. 150 All channels/month ii) - Rs. 50- One channel/month iii) - Rs. 10 - One channel/day iv) Preview - Free Choose the required Plan and select OK. 12 Now the Terms & Conditions will be displayed. Select OK. Come out of the MimobiTV application 13 In the main menu one new folder will be created with name as MimobiTV. Open that,inside MimobiTV application will be there. Open MimobiTV. 14 Now click on any channel, you will get the registration status (Success), Click OK. 15 Again go to the channels list and view the channels as you like.

Send SMS UNSUB ( or ) UNSUBSCRIBE to 55447.
