Boogie Board Basics
- Status indicator
The status indicator flashes when the Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriter is awake and ready to save images.
- Erase button
Push the erase button after each image is completed and saved to clear your image and start over.
- Save/Wake button
Push the save/wake button before you begin writing/drawing to 'wake' the tablet, and push it again after your image is complete to record the image to the tablet's internal memory as a PDF.
- Erase Lock
Enable the erase lock switch to ensure your image is not accidentally erased.
- 9.5″ LCD Writing Surface (measured diagonally)
The pressure-sensitive LCD writing surface provides extra room for notes and drawings. Also easy to clean and maintain.
- Micro USB Port

- Ensure that you are writing with the provided Rip digitizer pen.
- Ensure that you are pushing the Save/Wake button BEFORE you begin writing, which activates the digitizer from low-power mode.
- Ensure that you are pressing the Save/Wake button to physically save the file to memory after you complete your drawing and BEFORE you Erase the image.
- Ensure that the device is charged
- Ensure that the device’s memory is not full (which would cause the Save/Wake button to show flash Yellow or Red.
- Ensure that the device is not connected to your computer, which disables the ability to save.
- Ensure that the Lock switch is in the Unlock position. If Locked, the Status Light will be solid Red when writing.
Each Boogie Board Rip tablet is equipped with a small reset button on the back of the device. Please turn your tablet over, locate the reset button and, using a pin or other small object, push the button. Your Boogie Board Rip tablet should return to normal.

Each PDF will vary in file size, but will likely average between 30 and 50 kilobytes each. The maximum file size for a PDF created by the Boogie Board Rip tablet is 192 kilobytes.
No, the PDFs are saved as traditional black images on a white background.
The number of images/pages your Boogie Board Rip tablet can store will vary depending on the size of each PDF. If each PDF is average in size, your Boogie Board Rip tablet will hold approximately 200 PDFs before it is necessary to upload your notes/images to a computer to make space for more.
Simply connect your tablet to a computer with the provided micro USB cable, like any standard USB mass storage device. Your files will be available for viewing, archiving, editing or sharing.

The Boogie Board Rip tablet has rechargeable batteries. They are not user replaceable. However, the batteries are under warranty and will be replaced by an Improv Electronics technician if the batteries fail within the warranty period.
Fully charged batteries will last approximately one week with typical usage before recharging is required. After one hour of inactivity, the Boogie Board Rip tablet will enter 'sleep mode'. While in 'sleep mode', the Boogie Board Rip tablet's batteries will last up to 100 days before recharging is required.
