• Login to the ADSL Router using http://192.168.1.1. • Username and password are ‘admin’ and ‘admin’. • Click on ‘Basic’. • Click on ‘WLAN’. • Select ‘WEP’ in WEP Method. Click on ‘Basic’. Click on ‘WLAN’. Select ‘WEP’ in WEP Method. Give the key according to the encryption. Click on apply. Click on Save All to save the configuration.

Access Restriction using Password

Login to the ADSL Router on http://192.168.1.1

The username and password by default are ‘admin’ and ‘admin’. Click on ‘advanced’


Click on ‘wireless security’


Select the WEP security. Enable WEP security.

Key in the desired security password. Click on Apply.






Access List (MAC based)





       To add the clients to the access list, find out the MAC id of the clients (wireless interface card) where the connectivity is required, using the command ipconfig –all.

       To find out the MAC id from already active clients, follow the following method.



•Click on ‘lan clients’ under the ‘advanced’ menu


Copy the MAC ids for the clients whom access has to be permitted.



To add the clients to the access list find the following method.

•Click on ‘wireless management’ under ‘advanced’ menu.


Select the check box ‘enable access list’ Select ‘allow’

Enter the MAC id in the space provided. Click on add.


Click on ‘apply’











       Save the entire configuration by following the method given below.

Welcome to the fascinating world of Internet through the prepaid broadband service of BSNL.
Salient features: 
Prepaid Broadband services are available on BSNL DSL lines.
After sign up and validation, initial account is created with speed upto 2Mbps and 50 MB complimentary download valid for 15 days.
Account need to be recharged with RCVs (Recharge Voucher) to extend initial usage and validity.
Customer can choose from 9 different RCVs for limited plans and 4 different RCVs for unlimited plans.
Top-Up vouchers for more usage during validity period and validity vouchers for increasing the validity period are available. These are available for limited plans only.

1.Whether Prepaid Broadband can be taken along with existing Broadband service?
Ans. Yes. One more account can be taken.

2.Whether prepaid broadband account can be used any where in India?
Ans. Yes, Prepaid Broadband can be accessed from most of the BSNL DSL line in any city. (BSNL services are not available at Delhi and Mumbai).

3.Whether It is possible to change from unlimited plan to limited plan and vice versa?
Ans. Yes. You can also change from one limited/unlimited plan to any other plan without applying for it to BSNL by purchasing the relevant recharge voucher.

4. Can I check my current balance and validity of the service? AndHow?
Ans. Yes, You can check your current balance at any time by logging into customer care portal www.data.bsnl.in. Enabling this on SMS is in process.

5.Whether it is possible to take multiple pre-paid connections on same landline?
Ans- Yes. Presently maximum of two prepaid connections on same landline are allowed.

6.Whether it is possible to use one limited plan and another unlimited plan on same land line?
Ans- Yes. You have to take two prepaid accounts (two independent user_Id). One account can be used for unlimited plan and other account can be used for limited plan.

7.What to do in case balance amount is there but no validity?
Ans- You can extend the validity by recharging the account with validity voucher.

Ans-No. You must have land line to create prepaid account. If land line is disconnected, the account is also deactivated.

12. Is Simultaneous use of same account is possible by two users from same or different landlines?
Ans-No

13.How many user accounts can access the same line at a time?
Ans-No limit as long as different user accounts are used.

14.Is it suitable for hostels to have one Land Line (LL) and each student having different accounts to use? Will the charges be levied on the LL?
Ans-Any no. of users can use the same DSL line for browsing. The charges will be deducted from user accounts and not from the LL used.

15.Is it suitable for organizations to give their employees the access?
Ans-Yes, great opportunity for organizations to reduce the expenditure. The employees may be given access from office DSL line to use their account.

16.Is it possible to change from post paid to prepaid and vice versa?
Ans-No migration is possible. It will be noted that most users will prefer to have a suitable postpaid plan for use at home and have a prepaid plan for use while roaming. This will help them to reduce their total expenditure.

17. If my DSL line goes faulty or temporarily disconnected due to any reasons including shift, whether any extension of validity would be given?
Ans-No. As the account can be accessed from any other DSL line.

18.Whether any intimation is given before session is disconnected due to balance becoming zero.
Ans-No. The session gets terminated.

19.Whether any grace period is given to recharge the account?
Ans-In case of limited plans Grace Period I is for 15 days. If recharge is done during this period, the balance if any, will be carried forward. Grace period II is for 75 days. During this period no balance will be carried forward. For unlimited plans Grace period of 90 days is given to recharge the account. 

BSNL Assam Intimation to Postpaid Customers for Migration To Revised Add-on Data Packs

1. All postpaid customers having Add-on Data Packs of 2G or 3G can  migrate to revised Add-on Data Packs by sending SMS to 53333 as: AODP<space> 'option A/B/C/D'  by 10.09.2013; else default AODP will be applied.
   Options are as follows:
   A : Rs 125(1 GB) , B: Rs.225(2 GB) , C :  Rs.501(5 GB)  &  D: Rs 901(10 GB)
 2. Option received through SMS from customers will be captured in zonal server and required change will be effective accordingly.
 3.If customer fails to send option, Add-on Data Pack may be applied as default in accordance with table given bellow.

What is the BSNL Apps ?
The BSNL Apps is a one stop shop for all BSNL Mobile (2G/2.5G/3G) customers to purchase and download applications for use on their handsets. An application is a software which you can download onto your handset for personal use e.g. Calorie Calculator etc.
What is the advantage of using or downloading applications from BSNL Apps ?
The BSNL Apps provides you thousands of applications, utilities, games and themes. A wide-array of applications is available on the BSNL Apps & Applications are updated on a regular basis.
Is this service available for all BSNL Customers?
Yes, this service is for both Pre-paid and Post-paid BSNL mobile subscribers ‘having GPRS facility’.
How can I Access the BSNL Apps ?
You should have GPRS facility activated on your mobile and you need to visit BSNL Live WAP Portal. A “BSNL Apps ” icon is available on the BSNL Live Home page for you to access the various applications.
How do I find the file size of an application which I am interested in downloading?
File sizes are listed on each application's page, near the Buy/Download button.
Will the applications available on BSNL Apps site be compatible to my handset?
Only those applications that are compatible to your handset are displayed when you browse through the BSNL Apps .
What are the charges for browsing and downloading from BSNL Apps ?
The browsing & downloading of content / application will be as per your data plan and you would be charged for the content only when you download a particular application on your handset. For browsing you will be charged separately and for download you would be charged only when you download a particular application on your handset. The charges vary by application. These charges are displayed before you actually download. The following charging models are currently used:
a. Free download
b. One-time payment – you are charged one time prior to download.
c. Subscription payment – can be per month, per week or per day. Per month model gives you an initial 30 day access to the application with automatic 30 day renewals till you cancel. Similarly per week gives you 7 day access and per day gives you 24 hour access.
d. Data charges for browsing/Downloading/network-aware apps are extra & as per Data plan opted by you.
Where can I find a list of my purchased applications?
To see your purchased applications, click My Purchases link on the BSNL Apps homepage.
How can I see what purchases I made and what active subscriptions I have?
Click on My Purchases link on BSNL Apps to see the list of purchases. If the application is a subscription application then you will see when the subscription is activated till and what the renewal period is (i.e. monthly, weekly or daily).
Are there any regional applications available on BSNL Apps ?
Yes, there are plenty of regional applications available on BSNL Apps for our regional customers.
When I am in Roaming, can I use BSNL Apps ?
Yes you can use BSNL Apps when you are in roaming.
I just purchased an application. How do I install it on my handset?
On selecting the download option, all applications would get installed automatically on your handset. Some handsets may prompt you to confirm whether you want to download and install the application.
On downloading an application where does this get saved on my handset?
This is a handset Feature. Some handsets may prompt you to define where you would want the application to be saved. In case you have already made some settings the application may download itself on to the preferred location in your Handset.
How do I remove an application from my handset?
The application would be saved as an Icon on your preferred location where it has been saved. You would need to click on the icon and select the delete or remove menu. In case you do not get these options directly you might need to delete the application through Mobile desktop Manager which comes bundled with your handset.
I downloaded the application but cannot find it on my handset. What do I do?
If you have a Nokia handset, please look for the app in Menu > Applications > My Own. For other handsets please look in the Games or Applications folder. Otherwise, please try the Search function on the handset.
I am not able to download an application though my account has been charged. What should I do?
If the download process has not completed due to any reason you can visit the BSNL Apps Home Page again and click on the ‘My Purchases’ link to re-download another 2nd time without any extra charges for the application.
I tried to download an application. The process started but then froze in between. What should I do?
You should check your network connectivity and try again. You could also visit the Apps Home Page again and Click on the ‘My Purchase’ link to re-download again without any extra charges.
I am trying to download an application but nothing seems to happen?
In all probability this would be a handset related issue. Some basic checks would need to be done to ensure that your Handset is capable to download the applications. • To check that there is enough memory on your handset. • Time and date should be correctly configured • Clear the cache memory on your handset. We would request you to download the applications again. In case you are still not able to download the application please contact our BSNL customer care.

How do I cancel my subscription for an application?
You can cancel an application subscription in one of the following ways: 1. You will receive a subscription renewal reminder text message. Click on the link in the message to cancel your subscription. 2. Go to My Purchases link on BSNL Apps , find the application you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel’. 3. Call BSNL Customer care.
What happens when I cancel my subscription for an application?
There will be no further charges on your account for the application. You will have access to the application till the end of the current access period. E.g. if you canceled on the 15th day of a monthly subscription then you will have access to the application till the 30th day.
How can I use BSNL Apps ?
Steps to use BSNL Apps : 1.Click “BSNL Apps ” icon on the BSNL Live home page. 2.On the BSNL Apps home page select from the menu of applications. 3.On selecting a specific category from the menu you would then be presented a list of available applications which you can download under that category. 4.On selecting any specific application you would then be presented with the details of the application along with the price. 5.Some applications are available for Free and would display only a “Download” option with Zero price point. 6.You would then need to click/select the Buy or Download; the application would begin to download on your mobile. 7.The application will install on your handset. After the install is complete, you will see the option to 'Start Now?' depending on your handset. 8.If you select 'Yes' the application will start. 9.If you select 'No' you will be back to the BSNL Apps Receipt page.
