USB Fishquarium http://goo.gl/uMm3m

If you're like most geeks, your work environment can be a depressing and sterile place. Designed to crush your soul to squeeze the last few ergs of energy out of each and every wageslave, grey walls, grey carpeting, and anemic flickering fluorescent lighting all combine into something truly evil. Unfortunately, you've got bills to pay, so you punch in every morning and punch out every night feeling a little more dead with each passing day.
You'd love to have some kind of decoration - some bright point of color and light in your otherwise dreary existence, but the cube-police won't allow it, citing some bogus OSHA regulation or something. Something to do with not being allowed to plug personal items into the power outlet. If only there was some unregulated power source - electricity that even they couldn't complain about.
What if we told you that you could have a pencil cup with a nice bright LED light to illuminate your workplace powered entirely by USB? "Boring," you'd probably say, and we would agree. What if we threw in a nice clock and calendar and temperature sensor? "Better," you say, "but still not amazing." Okay, how about if we play soothing sounds of nature designed to calm your frazzled nerves. "For reals?" We're not done yet.
You get all that PLUS we throw in a real working fishtank so you can keep a couple aquatic friends with you while you work. "Whut?" you say, head cocked at a quizzical angle. No, we're absolutely serious. We've found a low-voltage USB fishtank that runs ENTIRELY off of your computers built-in USB power. Plug it in, fill it with water, and drop (gently) a betta or a couple of white-cloud minnows inside, and watch as they swim and dart about, happily frolicking on your desk! (Granted with beta fish there's less frolicking and more floating in catatonia, but you get the idea.)
Suddenly, your desk isn't as depressing as it was. There is life where there was once the vampiric dead-zone of workplace efficiency. Feel refreshed as you gaze at your happy swimming friends. Hooray! Just don't forget to feed them. The tank may be USB powered, but your fish are not.

USB Toaster Hub http://goo.gl/zFDEe

USB Toaster Hub and Thumbdrives

Some have said, if toast is so good, why don't they just leave the bread in the oven longer and make the whole loaf toasty? Those people are morons. The initial premise is sound - indeed, toast is scrumptious. The flaw lies in the second part of the statement. You can't just leave the bread in the oven longer for delicious toast. You'd just end up with overcooked bread. It's hard to blame them for their silliness - toast can lead some to irrationality.
Which probably explains the overly loud SQUEE we emitted when we first saw these little gadgets! Four little USB thumbdrives shaped like teeny anthropomorphized pieces of toast. And, what better place to put your little USB toast than a USB Hub shaped like a toaster?
The drives themselves come in four varieties. From lightest color to darkest, there's Tato, Butta, Ry Ry, and Crisp! The hub is silver with four slots for your favorite 4 pieces of memorytoast. You can, of course, insert your own thumbdrive, but where's the fun in that? They've also thrown in an SD Card slot, so your new shiny hub can perform double-duty as a card reader!

Riajuu Coat http://goo.gl/ALRyk

A group of Japanese students at the University of Tsukuba have designed a coat that creates a hugging sensation. The Riajuu Coat, dubbed the “Girlfriend Coat” by the media, simulates hugging from behind through the use of a robotized belt. The belt “squeezes” the wearer lightly, simulating a girlfriend/boyfriend’s hug from behind.

The students completed the experience of the hug by including a set of headphones wired to the coat, which allows the wearer to hear footsteps running from behind with a female voice saying girlfriend-like things such as “sorry, I’m late” in an anime voice.
The name of the coat, Riajuu, is a combination of two words, ‘riaru’ (Katakana for Real) and the kanji Juu, which means reside. Taken together, this term refers to a ”fulfilling real life.” This term is often used in Japan as the direct social opposite to the negative social connotations of being an otaku.
This is due to the strange way the term otaku have manifested itself in and outside of Japan. Outside of Japan, the term otaku signifies a person who have a niche interest in Japanese popular culture. However, the same term has acquired a socially negative meaning that is closer to ‘closeted freak’ back in Japan. Thus, otaku in Japan are seen as people without a “real and fulfilling life.” In naming the coat a Riajuu Coat, it is rather tongue-in-cheek, suggesting that the coat is intended to provide otaku with an experience of the Riajuu life.
There are no plan to commercially release the coat at this point of time. Netizens have dubbed this as the “Forever Alone Jacket,” while others have suggested that the addition sensation of soft breasts on the wearer’s back would truly complete the experience. Personally, I think that this is an interesting invention as well as a social statement into the way social life have been increasingly cyborgized. It should not be caught up in the mindless language of forever alone, otaku or even Riajuu. Instead, is it not better to think of this as an elaborate teddy bear/body pillow that provides people with some comfort when comfort is lacking?

The simple embrace of a loved one can provide some serious stimulation as you can feel all warm and good from something as simple as a hug. But there are people out there who have yet to know the joy of what it’s like to get a hug from a girlfriend or boyfriend as well as a sweet nothing into your ear, which is why a bunch of Japanese students decided to let technology give them the embrace they need.
Students at the University of Tsukuba created a coat that would give the wearer the sensation they are being hugged from behind by their girlfriend. The Riajuu Coat, as it’s called, uses a combination of a jacket, headphones and a belt that tightens around the wearer’s waist in order to get the feeling of a hug at that location. Judging by the sound of the virtual girlfriends included in the attached video, we have a feeling these Japanese students might have seen one too many animes.
