India Telephone Card (ITC) is a pre-paid card which gives freedom to a customer to make local, STD, or ISD calls from any BSNL/MTNL landline or GSM phone. Cost of such call is debited against the paid credit of the ITC. The phone line from which call is made is not charged at all. There is no hassle of dynamic locking your phone and sharing password with anyone else in the family. Each member of your family may use a separate ITC sharing the same phone line. What is ‘CallNow’ card

It is a normal ITC but specifically designed tariff to suit the requirement of users making heavy International/STD calls. Dialing procedure and features are same as that of ITC but the tariff is different from ITC and also different for different denomination of CallNow cards.

Who should use ITC

ITC does not involve locking unlocking phone facility using passwords. So, it is highly tamper proof. Also, there is no detailed record left of the calls made. So, use of ITC ensures privacy. Lastly since the phone line used to make call using ITC, one can avoid the embarrassment of using a friend’s phone for making a call. Thus ITChas a true universal appeal from low calling to high calling subscribers.

ITC can also be used from hotel phones. Use of ITC cards from BSNL/MTNL mobiles helps you in case you do not have roaming facility, to avoid roaming charges and in case you are left with insufficient balance in your mobiles.

· Language Selection –

You have the choice to receive the announcement in Hindi or English

· ‘Activate before’ period:

The time up to this date of is called total shelf life of the card and usually starts from the date the card is generated in the system. The ‘Activate before’ date is written on the card and shall be communicated along with the PIN of the card. The card must be activated i.e. must be used at least once before this date as the card can not be activated beyond this date.

· Activity period:

The ITC card shall become active on the day of first use. The activity period is the total duration starting from day of first use in which the card can be used. Activity period is specific to the denomination of an ITC and will be communicated along with the PIN of the card. You are advised to consume the credit balance of the card within this period

· Detailed bill facility available on demand, at cost.

· Account balance announcement with Real Time Credit Supervision

This feature enables to feed warning announcement to the user before the 5 days to the end of his activity period.

· Call duration threshold warning:

Do’s & don’ts with ITC/CallNow cards

· Immediately after buying an ITC/CallNow card check using any phone that the credit balance is OK.

· Use tone dialing facility, after dialing 1802-345 and followed by announcement, to enter all further digits by pressing * (star) button, even if the telephone line is not having tone dialing facility

· If the phone instrument used is having re-dial or display facility, erase the number before disconnecting the call by lifting the handset again and dialing any stray digit and replacing the handset.

· Never use the ITC/CallNow card while someone is looking on.

· Never use the ITC/CallNow card to make calls from any PCO booth with display facility, otherwise the 16 digit PIN will be revealed to the PCO operator.

· It is the ITC/CallNow holder’s responsibility to preserve secrecy of the ITC/CallNow PIN number

· To make query use PSN number provided along with the PIN. Do not reveal your PIN for this purpose even to BSNL staff.

· No free calls.

· For ITC all calls are chargeable @ Rs.1.00 per unit for calls originating from Landline and @ Rs.1.20 per unit for calls originating from mobiles.
