Launch of VOICE SMS under GSM services

Karnataka Circle has launched VOICE SMS under
GSM services w.e.f. 5/5/2014.

 The tariff of VOICE SMS is as follows:

I Steps for Sending a Voice Message:

1. A-Party dials * followed by B-Party number.(Including STD and other
operator Numbers)
2. Welcome message through IVR and voice prompt for Language Selection.
3. System prompts for Voice recording after the beep and ends recording by
pressing “#” key.
4. System prompts for
a. Press “1” To Send the VSMS now.
b. Press “2” To Listen the message.
c. Press “3” To Record again.
d. Press “4” To send a VSMS in a scheduled time.
e. Press “*”To cancel the message.
5. System prompts for “Your message has been sent, Thank you for using
BSNLVSMS service”.
6. VSMSC System initiates OBD call to B-Party.

a. System prompts for number of new messages and the number from
which the message has been received with date and time.
b. System plays the new voice message.
c. Press “1” To Play again.
d. Press “2” For next message.
e. Press “3” To play the message Header again.

7. Listened notification is sent to „A‟ party when „B‟ party has listened to the
Voice message.
 
II Steps for Retrieving the Voice Message:

1. B- Party dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message. (For BSNL subscribers
of South )
2. B-party numbers of other operators can retrieve the VSMS by dialing
09442717070.
3. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which
the message has been received with date and time.
4. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
 System prompts for

i) Press “1” To Play again.
ii) Press “2” For next message.
iii) Press “3” To play the message Header again.
iv) Press “4” To delete the voice message.
v) Press “5” To save a voice message.
vi) Press “6” To reply a voice message.
vii) Press “7” To forward a voice message.


To Delete a VSMS by the User:

1. B- Party dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which
the message has been received with date and time.
3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
a. System prompts for Press “4” to delete this message.
b. System plays “your voice message has been deleted.”

To Save a Voice message:

1. B- Party dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which
the message has been received with date and time.
3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
a. System prompts for Press “5” to save this message.
b. System plays “the message has been saved”.
 Note: 1. The capacity of VSMS inbox is 20 msgs /sub.
 2. Maximum 5 messages can be saved.


Reply to a Voice message:

1. B- Party dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which
the message has been received with date and time. 3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
i. System prompts for Press “6” to reply this message.
ii. System prompts for Voice recording after the peep and ends
recording by pressing “#” key.
iii. System prompts for
a. Press “1” To Send the VSMS now.
b. Press “2” To listen the message.
c. Press “3” To Record again.
d. Press “4” To send a VSMS in a scheduled time.
e. Press “*” To cancel the message.

To Forward a Voice message:

1. B- Party dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which
the message has been received with date and time.
3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
a. System prompts for Press “7” to reply this message.
b. System plays “Please enter the destination number followed by”#”. Or
press “*” key to cancel.”
c. System plays “To send this message press 1 or hang up, to re-input press
2, to deliver this message in future press 3, to cancel forwarding press “*”
key.
d. System prompts “Your message has been submitted”.


Voice message Scheduling:

1. A-Party dials * followed by B-Party number.
2. Welcome message through IVR and voice prompt for Language Selection.
3. System prompts for Voice recording after the peep and ends recording by
pressing “#” key.
4. System prompts for
a. Press “1” To Send the VSMS now.
b. Press “2” To Listen the message.
c. Press “3” To Record again.
d. Press “4” To Schedule delivery.
e. Press “*” To cancel the message.
5. System prompts “For delivery today, press “#” key. For delivery at a future
date, enter two digits for the day, then two digits for the month, and then press
“#” key.
6. Enter the time of day you would like your message to be delivered. Enter the
hour as a number from '0' to '23,' then the minute as two digits from '00' to
'59.' Then press #. The time now is
7. System plays “This message will be delivered on”…

 General Features:

1. Auto provisioning will happen as and when the subscriber initiates the VSMS
service.
2. Black listing of service is possible.
3. SMS notification to B number on failure of OBD call.
4. Regional language support for IVR.
5. Auto deleting of Expired messages.
6. South Zone subscribers while roaming in other zones (North, East and West)
will not have access to VSMS service as roaming scenario is yet to be decided.
7. Similarly other zonal subscribers of BSNL while roaming in south zone also
will not have access to VSMS service.
8. Off net subscribers will not have BSNL VSMSC service for depositing of
VSMS. However retrieval of VSMS is possible by dialing the allotted MSISDN
number.
